Students from a vocational school in Swarzędz visited the Łukasiewicz – Poznań Institute of Technology in March 2026, gaining first-hand insight into how logistics theory is transformed into real-world innovation and implementation.

The visit began at the Higher School of Logistics, where students took part in introductory academic sessions that provided context on modern supply chain challenges and the role of applied research in addressing them.

At the Institute, Damian Dubisz, Senior Logistics Development Specialist, presented key research and development activities carried out within the Logistics Research Group. A central focus of his presentation was the Shift2Zero project, alongside related initiatives such as GreenTurn and CRISTAL. He explained how these European projects contribute to the development of sustainable, low- and zero-emission logistics systems.

Students learned how Shift2Zero supports the transition toward greener transport by combining research, innovation, and practical implementation. Real-world examples illustrated how concepts developed in R&D environments are tested and gradually introduced into operational logistics solutions.

The program also highlighted the importance of data-driven decision-making in modern logistics, showing how analysis supports the design and optimisation of innovative systems such as those developed within Shift2Zero.

A visit to the RFID technology laboratory provided further insight into enabling technologies that enhance supply chain transparency and efficiency, reinforcing the practical dimension of the innovations discussed.

Overall, the visit offered students a clear view of how Shift2Zero and related research projects are shaping the future of sustainable, intelligent logistics across Europe.
