Wroclaw pilot

DPD (joining the consortium) has the objective to improve efficiency by combining heterogeneous deliveries via the multi-temperature controlled dynamically optimised and energy-efficient cargo body for parcels and fresh products. This strategy aims to enhance fleet utilization and minimize the total number of trips required for both deliveries and returns.

Additionally, to improve driver comfort, particularly in extreme weather conditions, DPD will implement an optimised thermal comfort system. Moreover, a modular swappable design for standard transhipments will streamline loading and unloading, reducing the time needed for these processes.

The pilot program will also incorporate electric light commercial vehicles (eLCVs) with holistic energy management. These vehicles will support cold chain deliveries while serving as energy sources for optimized charging operations. This two-way charging capability will enable the charging of smaller vehicles and various logistics tools directly from the EVs, further enhancing efficiency and sustainability.

The Shift2Zero solutions tested in Wroclaw pilot could be replicated at scale across the other Polish cities.
