Bologna pilot

Gruber will test the integration of various Shift2Zero vehicle concepts with the goal to develop a new logistics model with a transhipment hub near the city centre, enabling refrigerated e-commerce goods to be moved from (e)HDVs to e-LCVs.

The modular swappable concept will enhance loading/unloading efficiency. In collaboration with the City of Bologna, this pilot will also explore geofenced N1 vehicles for safe driving in restricted urban areas, addressing the need for extended time windows for battery EVs in city centres, as well as integrated control strategies, the cabine heating system and the multi-temperature cargo body.
