Shift2Zero takes the stage at Transport Logistic 2025 in Munich
The Shift2Zero project took the stage at the Transport Logistic International Trade Fair, held from 2 – 5 June 2025 in Munich, Germany.
At the event, the Alliance for Logistics Innovation through Collaboration in Europe (ALICE) featured Shift2Zero’s cutting-edge solutions at its booth, showcasing innovations aimed at enabling zero-emission logistics and sustainable urban mobility.
Visitors to the ALICE stand discovered several of Shift2Zero’s solutions including:
- A multi-temperature cargo body supporting flexible and efficient goods transport,
- Optimised thermal comfort and energy management systems,
- A modular, swappable loading unit concept enabling the combination of passenger and freight transport,
- A geofenced, right-sized N1 electric vehicle designed for urban logistics with a focus on safety and efficiency.
In parallel, project partners from Gruber Logistics hosted a dedicated Shift2Zero workshop titled “Electric Vehicles in Urban Areas: Which Is the Logistics Model?”. The session fostered active dialogue among logistics companies, research organisations, and public authorities. Experts from Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) also contributed to the discussion.
The conversation touched on the constantly evolving rules around urban logistics, and how companies are adapting their operations in response. Participants also shared perspectives on the economic, environmental, and social sustainability of different delivery models and vehicle types used in city centers. A key focus that emerged in the conversation was on how to reduce congestion and cut emissions in urban areas, making urban logistics more sustainable on all fronts.
The Eurecat Technology Centre, acting as Shift2Zero’s coordinator, represented the project both at ALICE’s booth and during the Gruber Logistics workshop.
Funded by the European Union, Shift2Zero is developing innovative designs and advanced solutions for zero-emission electric light commercial vehicles (e-LCVs). The project’s core mission is to reduce road transport emissions and improve operational efficiency, addressing the evolving demands of urban logistics through practical, real-world solutions.
Transport Logistic 2025 is the world’s leading trade fair for logistics, mobility, IT and supply chain management, bringing together over 2,500 exhibitors from more than 70 countries.
