The project joined ALICE and fellow EU-funded initiatives at Europe's flagship mobility event in Brussels to show how zero-emission, connected logistics can become reality.

Shift2Zero showcased at the Connecting Europe Days 2026

The Shift2Zero project was showcased at Connecting Europe Days 2026, held from 28 September to 1 October at SQUARE Brussels, Belgium. Hosted by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Mobility and Transport (DG MOVE), the event brings together policymakers, financial institutions, industry and transport stakeholders to shape a competitive, resilient, safe and sustainable transport sector in Europe, alongside an exhibition of EU-funded projects.

Shift2Zero was part of the Physical Internet Village, coordinated by project partner ALICE. The village brought together a group of European projects working towards more open, interconnected and collaborative logistics: IKIGAI, Hologistics, PILOTS, Future Proof Smart Logistics, DISCO, UNCHAIN and Shift2Zero.

At the stand, visitors could discover how Shift2Zero is developing and validating innovative electric light commercial vehicle (eLCV) concepts for urban logistics, and how solutions such as modular, swappable load units connect vehicle design with Physical Internet principles. With real-life pilots approaching in Norway, Thessaloniki, Bologna, Brussels and Wrocław, the event was a timely opportunity to share progress with the people shaping EU transport policy.

The village also strengthened Shift2Zero’s ties with its cluster projects DISCO, IKIGAI and UNCHAIN, with which the project already collaborated at the CIVITAS Forum 2026 in Thessaloniki. Together, these initiatives show how EU research can turn policy goals into practical solutions for zero-emission, digital and more collaborative freight transport.
