Shift2Zero brings zero-emission urban logistics to the New Mobility Congress 2026

At the New Mobility Congress 2026 in Katowice, Shift2Zero shared how right-sized electric light commercial vehicles can help decarbonise urban freight transport.

Shift2Zero brings its experience to the New Mobility Congress 2026

From 23 to 25 September 2026, the Shift2Zero project project took part in the New Mobility Congress 2026, held at the International Congress Centre in Katowice, Poland. This edition put logistics and electrification at the centre of the agenda, with an exhibition ranging from smart parcel lockers to megawatt charging stations for heavy-duty trucks.

On 23 September, Yanying Li from project partner ALICE joined a panel on the Design Stage, where she presented Shift2Zero alongside the EU-funded ZEFES project. She explained how Shift2Zero is developing right-sized, mission-focused N1 electric light commercial vehicles (eLCVs) designed around the real needs of urban logistics operators, cities and end users.

Discussions throughout the congress were practical and forward-looking. Speakers and exhibitors agreed on the need to reinforce Europe’s industrial competitiveness and supply-chain resilience under a “Made in EU” approach. They also looked at what it really takes to scale up high-power charging for heavy transport. Another strong theme was linking first- and last-mile operations by integrating smart parcel networks with zero-emission commercial fleets, which is at the heart of Shift2Zero’s work.

With its vehicle innovations now moving from design to prototyping, Shift2Zero is getting ready for real-life pilots in Norway, Thessaloniki, Bologna, Brussels and Wrocław. Events like the New Mobility Congress help the project strengthen its links with industry, cities and other initiatives working towards zero-emission freight transport in Europe.
