Municipality of Thessaloniki represents Shift2Zero at the International Dialogue on the Green Transition of Cities
On October 16th, Shift2Zero partners from the Municipality of Thessaloniki, represented the city at the “Green Living Areas Mission – Second Institutional Policy Dialogue” (Interreg Euro-MED Green Living Areas), held in Brussels.
During the event, Georgios Papastergios, Head of the Department of Operational Planning and Development Programmes of the Municipality of Thessaloniki, presented Thessaloniki’s Action Plan and Investment Strategy towards achieving climate neutrality by 2030, within the framework of the EU Mission “Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities”.
The presentation showcased the challenges and opportunities that Thessaloniki faces on its path toward sustainability and resilience and introduced how European-funded projects are contributing to the city’s transformation. The projects mentioned included Shift2Zero, together with ReGenWesT, DISCO, SPICE, Commit2Green, FairFuture, and iDriving among others.
Thessaloniki’s participation in Shift2Zero underscores the city’s commitment to innovation and sustainability. As one of the key partner cities, Thessaloniki contributes valuable insights and data on urban planning, mobility transformation, and citizen engagement, helping to shape methodologies that can be replicated across Europe.
