Łukasiewicz Automotive Industry Institute (LPIM) is active in research and development of automotive engineering. Being a member of the Łukasiewicz Research Network – one of the largest networks of research institutes in EU, Łukasiewicz Automotive Industry Institute brings together an interdisciplinary team of app.100 scientists and engineers and is capable of meeting the most complex technical challenges. Its unique research infrastructure enables comprehensive research and testing of automotive technologies and products in 7 different laboratories. The high research potential of LPIM has so far resulted 250 patents and 100 projects realized in the recent 20 years.
Contribution to Shift2Zero
LPIM is responsible for development of bi-directional charging strategies to optimize the charging of electric cargo bikes owned by DPD logistic company as well as testing it at the system and vehicles level. Additionally, LPIM is in charge of FEA simulations of the vehicle cabin to ensure compliance with homologation regulations.
